Otto's Health Report
Xray of Otto- May 2002
This page will contain the status of my health.  As many of you know, I have recently been a very sick kitty.  Turns out I have a chronic condition known as Feline Crohn's disease.  For those of you who are 'squeamish', I will not go into any details on my condition.

My condition started way back when, as I am what is known as a
'wool sucker'.  I love to eat such things as the carpet and the inside of the box spring.  (I was so angry at my mama when she took the box spring off of the frame and I was no longer able to eat that yummy filling.  Anyhow, I know she did it for my own good.)  Many people think that felines become wool suckers when they are taken away from their mamas too soon.  That is exactly what happened to me and my siblings.

As per a recent article in 'Cat's Today', "Oriental breeds, such as Siamese cats, are more likely to be 'wool suckers'.  There is some evidence in some cats that sucking may stimulate some areas of the brain and stimulate the release of certain 'brain  chemicals' that elicit pleasurable sensations".

You may be asking what can be done to help out a feline with my condition.  Well, your best bet is to just keep playing with your kitty and showing TLC at every opportunity.  Laser tag is my favorite past time and helps keep my mind off of 'wool' and other undesirable edibles.

Please check back again as I'll document my condition.  I'm hoping the two medications I'm on two times a day will keep me out of the hospital!
